Currently there is no 8 MP APS CCD available from Sony, Sanyo, etc. Except for the Nikon one implemented in the D2X there is no 12 MP either. As Pentax has a history of using old and proved technology :oT I expect we'll see a D upgrade only after the D90 or whatever hits the market.
