FWIW, in Sydney I look at a few places, and couldn't find the *istD for sale and none were online locally. So bought the DS. Haven't regretted it, though.
As luck would have it, saw the *istD WAAAAY overpriced two weeks later in a chain store (won't name names), something like $A2500 body only. It depends on what the shop has in stock, but if you really want a D, don't wait too long.
