If the leverage ratios are designed properly, they shouldn't. Certainly, the effect is much less than the dive with teles.


Well adjusted drum brakes are about as good as disc brakes, the reasons for the use of them was resistance to grabbing when not-so-well adjusted and even better resistance to fading - but disks are not immune to either.

I was going to say how much I preferred drum brakes to disks but thought I had enough of a reputation as a Luddite already. Glad to hear that I am not alone. The stainless discs used on early motorcyle incarnations were nothing short of terrifying in the wet. If they had been installed in cars, the manufacturers would have gone bankrupt from the ensuing litigation.
