from command prompt
ipconfig /all
This would show you the list of the network interfaces (cards) you have
something like this

if what you see there looks reasonable (roughly like this page), then,
ipconfig /release
and
ipconfig /renew

if ipconfig /renew times out, 
a) reboot your cable modem and PC
and if that does not help,
b) call your ISP
