Hello old friends!
Been on quite a lay off from the PDML and PUG. What's it been, 4 or 5 years? Well, I didn't change brands, just priority for a while. Had some major personal crisis to deal with that didn't leave much time for fun. Moved since then, and lost a little interest in film since I don't have room for a darkroom anymore. No one does decent B&W processing around here, and my quality & control (and half the fun) of the results was the results of doing my own work... So - gasp!-- I went digital. Started with an Olympus E-10 a few years back, while trying to sort out decent local processing, finally gave up.
Don't get me wrong, I hung on to my favorite (Pentax) manual bodies and lenses, let go of some of the expensive Contax and Pentax medium format stuff that was declining in resale value like a rock. Now I've started to enjoy using all my old K and M42 lenses, flash etc again on my new Pentax *IST digital. Been lurking over on Phil's DPReview Pentax SLR forum a little and really enjoying getting the creative juices flowing again. I checked out the PUG and was mildly surprised to see my images still on line in the archives. The quality of the PUG seems to continue to rise, Kudo's to all who have hung in there!
In a digital purge the other day, I found my old EPHOTO web site in an old backup and reposted it to a knology site. Have a look if you need a laugh. Man, things have come a ways since having to use crappie old scanners to get stuff on the Web. I hope to begin posting and participating again here soon. Thanks for reading!
