To answer the first question, I bought a DS, and I tried JPG at first, and decided to try RAW and I will stay with RAW for the serious stuff. Much more post processing image data to work with. Since I lost my wet darkroom, my digital darkroom has taken it's place. I'm still using old Photoshop 6.1, so I am stuck using the Pentax lab for converting RAW until I pony up for CS or Elements. The Pentax Lab is a little clunky, but it makes up for it in doing a decent job.

As to knocking the old equipment, sorry if I offended anyone, I was not knocking the camera equipment, just the old computer and scanner I used to have. I used to lust after a real negative scanner that would do medium format negs!

The new DS is just another tool to help me convey my message in the shape of an image. Weather listening to an old jukebox or a new top of the line surround sound system, the artistic quality of Chopan or Mozart, whom ever, was never in question, regardless of the equipment to reproduce the artists message. I find the ergonomics of the Pentax engineer's to match my own thinking, so I don't have to think about the equipment, it's just second nature. The added benefit of great glass never hurts though ;-) ....

Some of my favorites as you will see on the old site still include the old SMC m42's!
