I can only comment on what I have, Bowens monoblocks and a Quad, circa 1980. I picked them up with stands, softboxes and snoots and some other modifiers second-hand for a song. The Quad is 2000ws and the monos are 750ws and 200ws, and all work flawlessly. One of the things I like about having the pack separate from the head is how light and compact the head alone can be.
