Hi,
short account of what I was doing last few days...

yesterday night I arrived back home from the summit of Bush and
Putin (RF's president, for anybody so uninformed to not know!),
which took place for few days in Slovakia's capital Bratislava.
I was one of the thousand or so accredited journalists. I am still
a bit tired and sleepy :-( Security was high, weather was cold and
snowing and waiting for the 'heads to show up (they took their
time) at a photo opp was tedious. Pool access was very limited,
which wasn't nice. Still, got some nice pictures, even managed to
make few a bit different from the usual stuff, met friends...
Photographing was somewhat difficult, 600mm equiv. was about enough
(I got by with 2.8 zoom and TC), plus the snow and cold. After few
hours of waiting for Dubbya to show up we were shaking so much that
even the monopods didn't help for steady pics :) Those with IS/VR
did so, I just had to up ISO. My cameras survived all that
fortunately, with just one sad frame ruined by shutter
intermittency. Service center is few streets from my flat
fortunately, so off to there next week - they even clean the sensor
   for free ;-)
Best was that Dubya didn't confuse Slovakia with Slovenia this
time (although they apparently DID confuse Czech president with
Slovak president in official whitehouse press release photograph!).

Though, I still haven't made up my mind which one is more evil - Putin or
   Bush... (flames offlist please <g>)

I will reselect some photographs to my personal gallery, see later.

I see I have missed few heated debates on the list while I was gone
   ;-)
