Don't know about Garry's Camera Repair, but I've done business with Essex on several occasions and they have always done a good job.
$100 for a good CLA is not overmuch by camera service standards these days. My local photo tech is ICT Camera, http://www.ictcamera.com/ ... they do an excellent job, the rate is $70/hour, $50 minimum per service order.

Most facilities charge the same amount for all cameras. They may even loose on some uncommon models. But the mechanical bodies by Asahi are among the easiest to do, because they are well enginered (easy to work) and because everybody has experience doing them (they were popular models). It might be a good idea to pay by the hour. A Spotmatic or a K1000 usually take less than an hour to do. A repairman I had even told me that he could do one in half an hour if he really wanted to.
