A slow lens is not necessarily a bad lens.
In fact cheep, slow lenses can be quite useful, although perhaps not
"professional".
My 90mm f/8 Schneider Angulon is a pretty decent optic, considering it is as slow as it is, and also is a chrome finished amateur lens.
