My 360FGZ has stopped operating in any zoom setting except manual 24mm.  I 
cannot manually change the zoom, and neither the istD nor the MZ-S are 
setting the zoom automatically.  I've stopped using the 360 and now use only 
the RTF or my Metz CT45.

Mine has worked great at ISO 200, 400 and 800 with the AF360FGZ in
P-TTL.  Honestly, I don't know what's wrong with my D because I use the
AF360 flash alot and have had NO PROBLEMS with it.
