I've said it before and I stand by it: the Sensor Brush available from
http://www.visibledust.com/ isn't "cheap cheap cheap" but does an
excellent job, is extremely easy to use. Much easier than swabs and
Eclipse, etc. and about as effective. I have done both.

Well, both. Visible dust brush (recommended by John Shaw, and I am probably
trying it first) and a foot pump (recommended by George Lepp). I am tried to
find it in my notes, http://www.microtools.com, but just went there and not
sure
that is where the foot pump is.

I found the foot pump idea really strange, but neat. George said get a big
one (designed for small things like cameras and computers) and you can really
build up some air. That way when you blow air into the camera there is no
chance
at all that some liquid will go in with it too. (And the small bulb blowers
are too small to do any good, blow more dust in than out.)

I wish I had heard of that before I used compressed air on my computer (which
a friend recommended I do to get rid of the dust). I've been getting a
Windows blue error screen ever since I did it (only at certain times and not
very
often, but I think I damaged something on the motherboard -- I am hoping it
might work itself out). I obviously didn't do it as carefully as I thought I
did.

Lepp also recommended solution, Pec Pads, and the spatula. I am debating. I
sort of hate the solution idea, but he said he's been doing it a long time and
had no problems. I'm just not that good with liguids.

The visible brush feels safer to me, overall. But the other is cheaper...
back and forth... back and forth... back and forth...

Marnie ;-)
