Hi,
it seems Minolta has adopted Tamron as its lens producer... that's
   quite funny.

Both their two lenses announced with the 7D were strikingly similar
   to Tamron (17-35 and 28-75).

Now they announced APS lenses 11-18 and 18-200, which are also
strikingly simillar to Tamron's own APS lenses...

It's so intermingled! Remember, Minolta was producing some lenses
and even parts of bodies for Leica R. Somebody here mentioned that
Tamron's 14/2.8 is very very similar to Nikkor 14/2.8 . Pentax also
rebranded (with SMC coatings of course) Tamron 28-200 in the 90s.
Back in the film days, Cosina made entry level SLRs for about every
other manufacturer from Nikon to Olympus. Now they are making some
lenses for Zeiss. On digital compact P&S, the famous (35mm
equivalent) 35-105/2-2.4 lens has been branded
Leitz,Canon,Zeiss,Sony,... looking exactly the same and nobody
still knows who made it <g>. Back in the days of manual K mount,
Pentax (!) rebranded few lenses for Chinon, if I remember
   correctly!

   It's a big mess...

Good light!
