Definitely the former I think ;-) Although the latter doesn't hurt as
well, spending too much time on the technical side of things will
probably hurt the creative side. At least if you want to make
creative, innovative photographs. In my opinion of course! I have seen
some exhibited photos that wouldn't pass many shooters' technical
criteria for good shot but worked very well with the viewer. But
that's the same as on film - some artists did excellent exhibitions
even with bad cameras and processing. But that's all for a wholy
different discussion, one that resurfaces on the list time to time.
