the earliest. At least thats how I interpret whats being said.

I'm glad I'm not in a hurry to buy a DSLR from Pentax...

========

It's why I switched (well, IS played a part and the fact that Canon seems up on technology and has an upgrade path).

However, I liked the Pentax interface, so mainly I switched because Pentax was taking so long to come out with an *affordable* (to me) DSLR. The *istDS is what I was waiting for. But, that came out, what? A year and a half?, two?, after I first decided I wanted a DSLR (and I still waited a while after the D came out -- counting that wait time in too).

So I decided I'd have to wait too long and that would happen again and again, over and over in the future as well. Pentax seems/seemed "behind the curve" -- too slow for me.

Aha! Someone else!
I bought an Olympus C-5050Z shortly after it was introduced, for the very same reasons.
If I wasn't so impatient, I'd have waited for the *istD-S. Had I known.
I think about that every time I use it! <g> "This coulda been a Pentax!"
However, it does what I wanted, and very well indeed.

The only thing it lacks is interchangeable lenses.
Maybe next camera purchase I can rectify that...!

But I hate waiting lines at supermarkets (and elsewhere) too.
