Well, as far as equipment goes (camera, lenses, monopod, tripod, filters,
batteries, ImageTank (defunct), etc.) I have probably averaged $1,000-1,100 a
year. So over the last four years, $4,000-4,400. OTOH, I sell equipment to buy
equipment. Sold the K-1000 to get the ZX-5n, sold the ZX-5n to get the Canon
Elan, sold the Elan to get the Digital Rebel. Sold lenses, naturally, to get
other lenses. I never get back what I originally paid, even when I have bought
used (mainly), but I usually pull in 1/2 to more of the price of the next
purchase.

But, if you add in Lowerpro camera bags (brand names -- are they really
necessary?), scanners (no longer used much), printers, paper, inks -- I don't
even
want to think about it.

And if you add in photography classes (4), photography weekends with
well-known photographers (2), and last year's trip to GFM, flying from
California -- I
really, really don't want to think about it.

Right now, I am debating selling three lenses to raise 1/2 the price for one
better lens.

Actually, I probably should take up painting the outside of hollowed-out hard
boiled eggs, or make corn husk dolls, or macaroni sculptures.

Be a lot cheaper hobbies.

My credit card company loves me, though. So, seemingly, does every other
credit card company in the world (with all the offers I get to switch).

Marnie ;-)
