I think you've hit the nail on the head, Butch.

These guys are wonderful musicians, but like most jazz musicians, they
get up on stage, and play music.  They don't really care how they look
or "perform".

I think that means that if I want to "capture" them, I have to work
harder and be more patient to get that "moment".  I'm sure it's there,
I just haven't seen or caught it yet.
