Greetings all

Well it's official. I'm now a proud owner of a LX. I was lucky enough to get a very
clean LX
with a A50/2 lens and grip B at a BIN of $500.00 from a Bob Poe auction. (He even
threw in a
strap, velet bag, and manual) I now know what all the fuss is about. It is a
beautiful
camera. It had just had the mirror housing rebuilt with all foam and rubber replaced
as well
as a CLA. I shouldn't encounter the sticky mirror problem for awhile. I found the
control
layout very intuitive until I started looking for the MLU lever(I own a K2) At that
point I
had to resort to rtfm. I went through 2 rolls of film this W/E. It was also the
first use of
my new (for me) M400/5.6. The LX viewfinder really makes a difference with that lens.
 I also
tried it on my PP. As for the subject, I also acquired an ES with a 50/1.4 SMC Tak.
As for
this camera, I have a couple of questions for the group. On the left side of the
mirror
housing, there is a lever that when pushed up, enables the aperature to be manually
changed.
Does this have to be engaged when taking pictures in 'automatic' mode. Also the lens
has what
appears to be a slide control between maual and automatic. Currently, I think it's
set to
auto(that's whats exposed). Is there a trick to sliding this lever to manual because
I can't
seem to get it to move. I don't want to force any thing. Finally, on the ASA dial
there is a
small metal scale that can be set over 4 icons that I believe stand for shade, sun,
incandescent, and Emp?? What is the purpose of this control? I quickly shot a roll
through
the ES just to test the lens. Anyway, it's been a great W/E for photography.

Regards,

Don
