Thanks Ken. I think I have that book somewhere, but I can never find it when I need it. I'm a disorganized slob <g>. Walked the park along the Rouge in Birmingham this afternoon. Had a good look at a Cedar Wax Wing but missed him. Beautiful day though. It was great just to get outdoors.

Paul, an excellent book I use to identify birds in the area is "Birds of Michigan" by Stan Tekiela, includes good color images and all you need to know about a particular Michigan bird.

Thanks Christian. I figured one of our resident bird guys would know:-). He has really large feet. I'm not surprised he can walk upside down. I have another shot of him hanging onto the bottom of a branch with his long talons gripping the wood.

I'm no bird expert, but this guy eats something he finds on tree
branches. Is he some kind of woodpecker? He's not like most of the
other woodpeckers I've seen around here. Shot with the *istD, A400/5.6,
and the Sigma DG500 Super set on high speed synch, f5.6 @ 1/1000th.
