I think the colour might depend a bit on monitor settings. There's a slight warm-yellow cast in the highlights on my monitor, and to my memory that's a pretty accurate rendering. My monitor was last calibrated about 30 days ago, so it should be ok, but I don't know...
You're right that it's an afternoon shot; about 2 hours before sunset. You can also see that the moon is still new and not truly full, which means that it rise before sunset.
I'll check out what I can do with the white balance anyway. :-)

From the angle of the light and the title, it looks like a late afternoon/evening shot; but the white balance says "mid-day." Have you considered warming it up a bit?
