G'day Dave. I have been using a Canon Pixma ip3000 for the last 4 months. I use it for everything from general text printing to A4 photo printing. So far, it has really performed well. The photo reproduction on glossy Kodak paper is very good to my eyes. The colour rendition is mostly accurate to the original scanned negative or print.
Also, the BCI 6 colour ink cartridges are interchangeable with the BCI 3 ones. I use a S600 as well as the ip3000, so economy of cartridges is a plus. Hope this helps. Hooroo. My S800 has gone through another head, and i'l debating wither to replace it again or get a newer model. This will be its third or fourth head since i bought it in 2001. The BJC8200 is still going strong. The area stores only carry a few types, but the i960 seems to be a good printer and going for a decent price. Anyone familiar with it or have another Canon favorite printer, like the Pixma ones out now. Dave
