Kenneth,

I agree with your wife.  For some reason, this shot
works!  I think the tree trunk and shoreline "framing"
would be trite if not for the saplings in the
foreground--they add the impression of being "vewwwwy,
vewwwwy quiet" as you stalk the "wascawy" crane.
