Hate to say it, but in my comparisons of my DA 16-45 and FA *24/2, the DA was as sharp or sharper at almost every f Stop including wide open. I suspect that your test is too narrow to be of general value. You would need more samples and more control before making a statement like that. It's entirely possible that your DA is not very good, but not necessarily all DA 16-45's are just like yours.
