Thanks for your thougths, Peter. Actually, the focus was pretty much where I wanted it to be. Shooting with a longish lens, relatively open (I think about f 4.0) I wanted the player to be OOF, and the bass/strings/hand to be relatively well focused. That being said, either one likes it, or not. I do have plenty of (unprinted) shots of both player and instrument in focus, but they didn't really do much for me. Please don't take it that I'm "criticising the critic". I'm just saying that the effect was exactly as intended, and not a matter of "difficulties faced", in this case. How a viewer reacts to it is a matter or personal taste, so there's no right or wrong about that (or is there? <g>). I do appreciate your thoughts, and that you took the time to post them.
