I have this lens. It is lightweight (can be hand held) for a lens this
long. I have always shot it at f8 and found it to be quite sharp. Others
report that it is soft at f5.6. I can't confirm - I just don't use that
stop. $250 is a very good price, especially new. (The lens is out of
production, so new ones must be rare.) I recommend it, and think you
will be pleased. I am with mine.
