Only on this list could you find somebody who will take a piece of good news about Pentax, and find a way to negate it.
I always get a kick out of the comparative sales numbers and the immedieate presumption that Pentax is going to fade away because they aren't selling the unit volumes that Canon or Nikon is selling.
Were I running a company with the manufacturing capacity of a Canon or Nikon, and had Pentax's volume sales, I would be worried.
I have seen posts that Pentax is selling the istD and istDs as fast as they can make them.
If their manufacturing is at capacity, and they are selling everything that comes off the end of the assembly line, then they are doing OK.
British Leyland (Rover) made the original mini from 1959 to about 1999. For the first thirty years thay made an average 10/- (50p - $1) loss on every one. But that's just us.....
