i don't understand it either. every time my DA 16-45 isn't focused right, 
it's because i wasn't paying enough attention.

It doesn't appear to be Herb.
I just dropped it down and clipped it back in place and it
looks like it positioned itself the same.
(First time I've done this on the D, that thing sure is small)
Bill Robb thinks it might be a contrast issue, that makes sense
and I'm going to do some experimenting.
The really odd thing to me is that I have crappy lenses that are
consistently crappy. Good lenses that are consistently good.
And the DA which is a good lens that is 'occasionally' crappy.
Wierd. :-/
