Hi, perhaps I am lucky to have access to a good professional lab
locally. When I brought them a huge pile of film from a big
assignment, (not as frequently as I would like), they were great that
they numbered each film as I wanted. Last time it was about 40 films.
Of course now I am much more using the digital, but for some things I
still use C41 films, especially when traveling.

The number sticker is in a pair - one goes on to negative trough
processing, the other on the envelope. So they just put the negatives
trough the developing machine in my order (as indicated by number on
film canisters and were careful to stick the other sticker from the
pair on either the canister next to my number, or even rewrote my
number to the envelope sticking the sticker there.

Great service.

Of course, good labs are a dying breed now.

I would suggest talking to them, even if on the phone.

Good light!
