That's why I waited for an F* 300/4.5 to show up. It took a while, but I _really_ like the tripod mount on the F* version of the lens. Plus, I only paid around $6-700 for it a couple of years ago. The cost of a 300/2.8 equates to a good chunk of my annual motor racing budget, so that ain't likely to happen. :-) TTYL, DougF KG4LMZ
