In my university days we managed to find a publically writable scratch directory somewhere on one of the servers, so we put some game files there to make it easy for us to install/play/delete for evening network game sessions when we were meant to be studying for exams (it would have been "Doom" in those days).


It got us booted off the network pretty quickly, but it was so close to the end of the academic year that it didn't matter.
