Thanks Bill. I will pay them a visit tomorrow and see what they can do. I'm sure they'll be able to find me something that works. I am, however, an incorrigible nerd, so I may not be completely happy until I understand the numbers too.
Get yer optometrist to explain that as well.
Your focusing screen is about 1 meter from your eye (more or less) in apparent distance.
The diopter adds a bit of refractive power to your eye to allow it to focus on something at that distance.
You could probably take them the cover glass for your viewfinder and have them put a custom diopter made just for you into it.
