Not talking LPPM at the subject. Talking LPPM at the film plane. LPPM at the subject (which is what we're used to talking about and which was natural for you to expect) IS better, and I quote me from below, "...the image is larger for a net gain in image sharpness."

Baffles me then how Mamiya can manage better than most 35mm spec WRT resolution
in it's 67 lenses, even the teles. I'm happy to run off a roll of Provia slide
if anyone really wants to see what I've been on about for years.
