The FA28-105/3.2-4.5 AL IF is much much better on all counts and only $100 more. The DA16-45/4 is another excellent alternative if you prefer the wider field of view.
Funny, but I haven't seen the need to use the focus override feature yet! Used to use it all the time with my Canon USM lenses, but with the Pentax I'm finding that the AF is usually right on the money, or I need to use manual focus instead.
