If you haven't gotten an answer yet, when you get off the Golden Gate Bridge on the North side, you are in Marin County. The next county north from there is Sonoma, then Mendocino, then Humboldt, Del Norte and then the Oregon border.

This is just one of those "afterthought" pics. While making photos
yesterday it crossed my mind that some people might be interested in seeing
where San Quentin prison is located. Most people here have probably heard
of the place through movies or news reports, and may have seen images, real
or made with "movie magic" of the dreary or dark interior. However, the
prison is situated in a lovely area, and has great views of San Francisco
and the bay.


This is not a great shot - not real sharp, not thoughtfully composed - just
taken to show the site of the prison.
