In the years I've been involved in 35mm photography (all Pentax SLR BTW), I've never pitched an image due to lens image quality! Maybe its because I been fortunate enough to use only Gen-u-ine Pentax lenses (with two exceptions (a Tamaron zoom & mirror lens). If it came to wanting/needing a lens, I always sought Pentax first. I realize cost plays a big role in getting the lens you want but I've always felt I gotten what I've paid for with a Pentax lens.
