I have a S9000 and it allows for alignment of the 5 colours and black. If they are not aligned, banding occurs. The driver software has a utility for checking and adjusting alignment. <http://www.systeminsight.co.uk/Canon_Printheads_S9000_QY6-039-000.htm> Of course, this system may be nothing like the HP system.
