I've been doing a lot of stock photography over the last few years, and have
settled in on scientific photography, mostly of insects, as a specialty.
These days photo sales are fairly steady, though it's a constant struggle to
get the volume and quality of sales up to the level needed.

But I'm really happy about this one:

The full page+ photo of the bee on the left side of the image is one of
mine, shot with a Pz-1p, A* 200mm macro, and probably an AF200T flash.

It's great having a shot in a high circulation magazine (~350,000
readers) -- nevermind that probably 348,000 of those readers are not old
enough to drive :-)  But I'm really blown away by being in proximity to E.O.
Wilson, someone whose writings have shaped much of my understanding of how
natural (including human) systems work.

I guess that shows what can be done, using humble Pentax gear and shooting
in your own back yard... :-0
