Thanks Frank. There is definitely a lot of trial-and-error with this thing, but I would imagine that as one gets more practice with it (learns to "play" it, as it were), one could learn to get somewhat more predictable results.

The subject of the photo is a piece by Hong Kong artist/designer Michael Lau. He' s largely credited with creating what has generally become known as "Urban Vinyl" - limited edition artist-designed action figures of sorts. They originally took a lot of inspiration from hip-hop culture, but, at least in Michael's case, have branched off in other conceptual directions.

Marco,

What a cool shot. Looks like that thing could be a lot of fun, but I
think I'd only want one if I had digital. I'm guessing that there
must be a lot of crap shots to sift through before a decent one (like
yours) comes along. Or not, who knows?

Anyway, I really like that shot. Made me think of the song "Rocket
Man" by Sir Elton John.

BTW, what ~is~ that thing you photographed. Some sort of a bendy doll thing?

cheers,
frank
