Master: Flash is connected to the camera and controls other wireless
flashes and provides output when the image is taken.

Control: Flash is attached to the camera and controls other wireless
flashes. the flash does NOT provide output to the final image.

Slave: Flash is not attached to the camera and sits around waiting to
be told what to do by a controlling (or master) flash. Flash will
power down after an hour on non use.

Hope this helps.
