For example, SMC Pentax filters are great, but they don't come in as wide a
range of colors for contrast work as B+W, whose MRC filters are also great,
and which come in a greater variety of sizes.  OTOH, Heliopan makes
excellent filters, and if you want a thin filter that is threaded on the
front, they may be the only choice in some instances.  The high end Hoyas
are fine, but a bit pricey compared to some other equal quality or better
brands (better in construction).  And that's just the tip of the filter
iceberg.
