I don't have either of those lenses, but I'm quite pleased with the performance of the FA28-105/3.2-4.5, FA135/2.8, F50/1.7 and F35-70/3.5-4.5. The F100-300/4.5-5.6 is the poorest performer of the lot, and even it does fairly well stopped down to f/11.

Focusing feel is generally poorer with the AF lenses than with the manual focus models, but of the lenses above, the F50, FA28-105, and F35-70 feel good; the F100-300 works ok when manually focused too. The FA135 focus ring feels loose and difficult to control precisely.

Hi All.

I currently own an assortment of manual members of the Takumar family
and i'm going to pick up a Auto Pentax body (Z-50P) with F and FA
lenses (SMC PENTAX-F 35-80mm and SMC PENTAX-FA 70-200 Power Zoom) to
play with until I pick up an *istDS

My KAF knowledge is patchy at best especially in terms of glass
quality and the like, so what are peoples thoughts on F and FA's in
general, or any info on those lenses specifically?

Any thought is a good thought!

Thanks
