I was looking through the Shutterbug issue devoted to PMA 2005. The
section on 35 mm SLRs was a page with an outline of an SLR and a
question mark. It said:

"For the first time in the history of the PMA show, not a single 35 mm
SLR camera was announced at PMA 2005. (Lousy sentence, BTW) We do not
expect any to be announced anytime soon. Or maybe ever again.

A bit dramatic, but it raises an interesting question. Given the used
equipment market, how long will it be profitable for the bigger
companies to make film cameras? The Nikon F6 is an interesting case.
And, can smaller companies arise that make smaller batches of very
expensive "custom" film cameras?

Anyway, what about the projected arc of film CAMERA business?
