Hi Don, My methods don't always match those of the best PS retouchers because I'm self taught, but I get things done in my own clumsy way. I did a quick and dirty foreground fix on this. I used the lasso tool to select the darkest area on the lower right, giving it a large feather area of 8 pixels. I probaby could have made that feather larger. I then went to image/adjust/shadows/highlights and brightened the shadows around 18%. With the shadow/highlight tool set to advanced, there's another slider near the bottom of the window for midtone contrast. I increased the contrast about 10%. Next I selected the entire foreground area with the lasso and repeated the shadow/highlight operation, upping it all about 12% and again increasing midtone contrast about 10%. Then I went in with the clone tool and touched up the transition area. I also went in with the burn tool and burned down some of the highlights that were popping through the trees. I put it on one of my web pages. I'll delete it ! tomorrow. http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3317213&size=lg
