the story line in the movie is supposed to be all Adams' work. they say in 
the newspaper reviews that the subsequent tweaks were in the details. 
special effects are pretty good, and mostly understated. they didn't 
dominate the movie. did you see the TV movie Marvin? he's seen a couple of 
times.

1. the film bears only a passing resemblance to the radio series, books TV 
or record.  It's actually a more coherent whole...
2. it's worth waiting through the credits, no matter how much of a saddo 
that makes you appear.  I only did it because I wanted to see if the title 
song was written by Eric Idle (no) and had a pleasant suprise.
