My comment was in response to some statements made about the number of
exposures some people had made with their DSLR's. It could have been that
I was testing a new film or a lens, and that all I did was point the camera
at a brick wall and bang off a bunch of frames. Or perhaps I was
photographing an event, or making a portrait. Numbers have no value unless
they are in some sort of context.

When someone says that they have made 13,000 exposures on their DSLR in six
months, that means nothing. Just as my saying that I shoot a roll of film
every day. Anyone can make exposures. But not every exposure results in a
photograph.
