The worst I've had is when a US friend sent me a package full of different types of American candy. Not only did it have a distinctive smell which the Customs sniffer dogs would have liked, some of the sweets would have looked a lot like pills when looked at using the X-ray machine.
The package turned up a couple of weeks late with "Officially opened by Customs" tape sealing it but it was obviously OK and I was never contacted by Customs.
