Of course, for shooting swans, edge and corner sharpness are not of the
highest concern.  (For example, I think that that was part of the design in
the Novoflex 400/5.6 and 600/8 "gunstock lenses", used a lot for wildlife -
they were razor sharp in the center, and not so sharp in the corners.)

I suspect that the 200mm prime would probably do better on the TC than the
"-210" zoom - that would be the "usual, accepted" assumption.  However,
there are some particular lens-TC combinations that can be surprising -
sometimes a particular combination can be a lot better or a lot worse than
expected.
