The limit switch linits the focus travel and can be used either in the range beyond the close focusing disances i.e. ** metres to OO or from the closest distance to a couple of meters (can't remember the exact figure without looking at mine) the full position allows use of the entire focusing range closest point to OO. Maximum magnification is 1:3 (1/3 life size) at the closest focusing point. The lens is varifocul incidently. John
