many Japanese analysts are expecting all but Canon to lose money on their
digital camera divisions this coming fiscal quarter. Canon's division will
make money, but less than last quarter. the big consolidation is about to
really get underway. Sanyo, who makes many cameras for other vendors, is
also expected to lose money too. shipments in Japan are down about 18%
compared to the same time last year, and sales everywhere else is slowing
down too, although not actually decreasing yet.

Found this in email today. Somebody said there is nothing so
devistating to an opinion as a fact. With 900,000 shipped and a 20%
market share, I make it 4,500,000 digital P&S cameras for the USA in
the 1st quarter. Wow.
