If taxes weren't there, that doesn't mean the company would suddenly grow a heart and start overpaying its people and undercharging its customers. It just means the company would retain a higher percentage of profit.


Depends on if the company in question is operating in a vacuum. Competition for the sales dollar would cause prices to drop right through the marketplace.
The flip side would be an increase in direct taxation.
In Canada, the price of smokes, whisky and beer would go up.
